xbox 360
OK for all of you xbox 360 fans this one is for you!
Have you ever been playing your favorite game online with your pals when all of a sudden the screen locks up, you restart your beloved xbox 360 and there it is... the RED RING OF DEATH!!!!!
Crap!! Thanks Bill, create a cool system that can't handle the heat! Who in the hell wants to frickin send it in, wait, wait, and wait to get the fixed unit back!! Not me!
Well I read a post on a blog about a fella that came up with a solution. He said that he went to the store, one that rhymes with tall cart, and bought a new xbox 360. He took it home and tried to take it apart. Why? Because all of the xboxes have serial numbers on them, 3 to be precise and they are coded with the receipt. So if you try to return your red ringed broken one, the serial number would not match the receipt.
So this guy goes on Youtube and finds a video on how to take the thing apart. He uses a hair dryer to get all of the stickers off. He then switches the cases, each have a serial number on it, and then switches the stickers. Now the guts from the red ringed unit are in the new case with the new stickers ready to be returned to the store for a full refund. Problem solved in about 1 hour. Now the guy is up and running playing Rainbow 6 Vegas with his buddies while some poor kid who just opened his birthday present sits down to a nice game of ...red ring :-(
Not really the best way to deal with the problem, but where there is a will there is a way. I love my xbox and I have yet to get the RED RING of DEATH, knock on wood. But it is nice to know that that there are people out there working for the people against the MAN!
But really, do the right thing man!
